The Imaginary Crush!

  The Imaginary Crush!

As my eye lashes hugged each other,
unable to stay away any longer,
I stepped into a new world
and my restless eyes felt something special.
Easing away my anxiety,
I looked up to see the visual wonder!
Enchanted by your beauty in my dreams,
I followed your footsteps
and I found myself in a place
no man could have ever imagined!
My tired limbs were refusing to move
and my poor eyes were so desperate
to spot the visual wonder once more.

As I was looking as far as I could see,
        I saw an angel,
       with all the heavenly glow,
       walking towards me, tearing apart
       the darkness with her radiance.
      The place was all illuminated
with the rays of her beauty
      and as she inched closer,
      my eyes became motionless looking
      at her magnificent eyes
that cast a spell on me!
     The lips, that were separating
     to flash a gorgeous smile,
made me skip many a beat
and I wondered how I still survived!

Awed by your beauty,
I forgot that it was you.
My eyes went out of control
every time they spotted you
and enjoying a visual treat,
I drowned in the ocean of happiness,
hoping that it would last forever!
Every syllable that you uttered
echoed in my ears as loud as possible
and every step that you took
left an impression that refused to fade with time.
The chant of your name was good enough
to send waves of excitement down my body
and the sight of you made my mouth go dumb
while my heart could never resist praising your beauty.

         My thoughts didn't know
when they should stop carrying you
          and my heart couldn't find
          a way of forgetting you!
No matter how many times I saw you,
my eyes always try to sneak a look
         of  your scintillating smile
         and in no time,
goosebumps make me feel their presence.

The sheer joy of watching every bit of you
fills my heart with happiness up to the brim
and the more I see you,
the more I like you!
As words fail to express my liking towards you,
I wonder if I can ever let you know
that the crush on you is crushing me inside!

Nevertheless, I keep trying to reach you
and the closer, I think, I am to you,
the farther you go leaving me bereft
and I realise that you are
like a mirage that never existed
but offered me heaps of memories
to carry down the memory lane
and having realised that
I am too good to fall prey to these false attractions,

I MOVED ON!

I am NOT AN ENGINEERING STUDENT!

I am NOT AN ENGINEERING STUDENT!

The other day when i attended a function, there were people all around,a lot many of them strange to me and I strange to them. Thanks to the occasions like these, people 'manage' to 'find' some time out of their 'hectic' schedules to fake a couple of smiles to their dearer ones! There were handshakes all around and few smiles were exchanged as a matter of formality! As i was watching all these 'artificial' moments from close quarters and as i was trying my best to fake a couple of smiles,i felt a pat on my back, which actually was too strong to be called a pat! I was introduced to someone new to me and after I let the 'stranger' know my name, the expected question popped out in the conversation,"what are you doing?". The 'stranger' meant to ask about the academical course that i am pursuing and without any reluctance i replied with that smile still on my face,"B.SC (computers)" and snap! What i got in reply was a blend of expressions that were so intense! Those expressions contained so many questions that were virtually asked! When I de-coded them,I realised that the bamboozled and bewildered 'stranger' was looking at me as if he meant to ask me "You are not pursuing B.TECH?! Then what,on earth, are you up to?"! While i made all these interpretations in the C.P.U  of my body, I still managed to grin wondering if ENGINEERING is the only way to go after completion of intermediate!
Many Indian students and their parents seem to be looking no further than engineering. That reminds me of horses whose eyes are covered side wards so that they don't look any where else other than what's infront! Not taking into consideration whether a student is actually interested in engineering or not,the parents of students get their children enrolled in engineering colleges and what ensues there after is a burdensome engineering phase. It's like when someone asks a student about what he/she is doing, they mean to ask about the branch of engineering that one has opted for and when they realise that someone is not an engineering student, they look at that person as if he/she has come from the planet "PANDORA" in James Cameroon's "AVATAR"! The "ENGINEERING MANIA"  is soaring up so much that one shouldn't be surprised if someone says pursuing engineering after completion of intermediate is a universal truth just like the fact that the sun rises in the east!
That reminds me of a post that i have read on facebook which says that Indian students initially become engineers and then decide what they would like to be in the future!
Whenever i find myself in the situations like the one that i have mentioned earlier, the inner me roars inside "You all laugh at me because I am different. I laugh at you because you all are the same!" and only had it been heard outside will things have been different. Having said all this, I don't mean to criticise the field of engineering or the ones choosing it! There will be some who choose it out of passion and to them i mean no harm. And if you are one of them, I know you must be fuming fire right now but let me ask you to gulp down some ice cold water because this is the truth and it is a bitter pill to swallow.
Let me tell you again
"I am NOT AN ENGINEERING STUDENT!"
So, big deal?!

SACHIN TENDULKAR -THE SUPER HUMAN

        SACHIN TENDULKAR

                 -THE SUPER HUMAN
Miracles occur once in a while
to foster people to go for that extra mile.
May be god wanted to create yet another miracle
just like the bright stars that do twinkle.
He created a human being blessing him with all the powers
and wanted to see that man blossom like beautiful flowers.
The 24th of april,1973 saw the birth of the super power.
He was named SACHIN RAMESH TENDULKAR.
His nature of being naughty did bother
his family and it was Ajit, his elder brother,
who made him to hold a cricket bat
and cricket would feel thankful for it didn't miss a legend of that sort.
A fast bowler was what he wanted to be,
but realised that it was not his cup of tea.
It was then that he made his way to the batting crease
and then he started to punish the bowlers with ease.
Sir Ramakant Achrekar showed him the way
and he showed the world how to play.
His 664 run partnership with kambli showed who the boss is
and the bowlers might have felt like saying "leave the ground please!"
Splendid performances like these forced a change in the rules
as he donned the Indian jersey at 16 and left the opponents no clues
on how to stop him and though his first innings score was a zero,
it took him no time to turn out to be a hero.
On one occasion,he did take a nasty blow,
but that didn't make him feel down and low.
79 innings may have denied him a three figure mark
but by then he had showcased his hallmark.
Destruction and demolition of bowling was what he had done
as he made the opponents sweat it out in the sun.
Opponents and venues didn't matter
as he batted like an enchanter.
India tasted victories many a time
thanks to his performances that were solid and sublime.
The Indian tricolor fluttered high
as runs from his bat flowed like river Nile.
Promoting him as an opener was a revolution
which brought in cricket an evolution.
It didn't matter whether it's an O.D.I or a test
as for the viewers, his batting was a delight and a run fest.
One would have lost count of the hours he put into practice
and one would be awed by his tricks and tactics.
His straight drive can teach an architect how to draw a line
and the rest of his shots were just superfine.
Was it only in batting he did shine?
No,his bowling and fielding meant a chill down the spine.
Records followed SACHIN as if he were a bag piper
and his precision of play was like that of a sniper.
How can one forget the Sharjah storm?
By doing so,he put India at helm.
The sad demise of his father made him shed a tear
but by scoring a ton thereafter, he made his intentions clear.
Scoring 200 in an O.D.I was only a dream
but he proved that he can explore any stream.
Winning the world cup for India was his dream and aim.
In the 6th world cup he played,he could cherish it and get acclaim.
Accumulating thousands of runs and a ton of tons was way beyond imagination
and his achievements commanded respect for himself and his nation.
Looking back, we find heaps of such memories,
which are the sources of happiness, that grows like green trees.
Fans call him the 'master blaster'
and for the opponents, his presence meant a disaster.
"God of Cricket" is what he is called
by the millions of fans he enthralled.
Success and glory are his good friends
while he made complacency and pride stay at a distance.
His great character is what made him a genius and a legend
and the love and admiration of his fans have no ends.
He is a source of motivation and inspiration
and words find it hard to describe his passion and dedication.
He is, more than a human, a super human
and for his incredible services, let's salute the gentleman.
Let us thank you SACHIN for the great memories over a span of 24 years.
Your exit from cricket made it difficult for us to hold back our tears.
For you, cricket is like oxygen
and for us you mean everything.
For men may come and men may go,
but SACHIN's impact stays on forever!
